What Can I Do For You?

I am willing to work on any needs that you may have, as long as I think that I will be able to accomplish them. I try to offer competitive rates as I am eager to professionally establish myself in this field.

Feel free to fill out the contact form or send an email for a free consultation where we can discuss what you are looking for!

  • If you just want a simple overlook going back a few generations, this is the service for you. I’ll spend between 1 to 2 hours collecting some brief information like names and a few dates. This is a good place to start if you know nothing about your family history, or if you just want a 20-foot view of your ancestry.

You will receive a family tree, as well as a brief family report, and suggestions for further research.

  • This option is best when you have some specific research goals you want to accomplish. Here are some examples.

    • Are you trying to break through a brick wall in your own research?

    • Do you want to learn more about a particular ancestor, such as your grandfather?

    • Are you interested in the country or town your ancestors emigrated from and the historical context surrounding it?

    • Or are you looking to explore your family history as deeply and thoroughly as possible?

I chose a range in prices as each project and family can be very different. Some English and Irish names can be incredibly common, while others like my own surname are easier to do research on for the opposite reason. Locations also play a large part in research as well, concerning the record availability. And of course, what your goal is plays a role in the pricing as well.

  • Special projects are always welcome. A price will be determined depending on your needs and how much time I think it will take to accomplish. It could be anything from a specialized focus (immigration, military, DNA support, etc.) to obtaining fully customized deliverables (putting the research into a book).

This is also a place for if you would like to do a full research dive into your family: we would set up some expectations and a price.

  • Although there are many online record collections that I can access, some things can only be found by requesting them like many vital records (birth, marriage, death certificates), circuit court records, and some obituaries. If it will add to the research or perhaps break down a brick wall that I’ve hit, I might suggest spending the additional money to obtain it. This is a separate item that will be billed separately.

  • "My dad's family line, as far as we all knew, just went back to a great grandfather in the midwest. When I mentioned this to Tyler he came back the very next day showing grandpa's lineage going to a great-great-great grandfather in pre-revolutionary (18th century) times and an interesting coincidence; he lived in a Massachusetts town nearby!"
